What a great day today at the Aquatic Reserve. Many thanks to Brett Sewell, Peter Thomason and Rod Parkin who were organiser, setter and controller for today's event. The weather was perfect for orienteering, there were over 200 starters and Bennelong won all 4 grades.

I was pleased to see so many members who had not previously run Metro League to turn up and contribute to our success. We had not fielded a Div 1 team for several years and today our team of Richard Morris, Clyde McGhee, Brian Brannigan, Brian Black and Darren Slattery beat Bigfoot who have been the premiers for the last few years. I was really impressed with the runs of newcomers to Metro League in Melissa Thomas in Div 2, Melissa Grant and Kathryn Cameron in Div 4.
Results can be found on Eventor and Splits on Winsplits.
The next 2 Metro Leagues are at Nurragingy past Blacktown on 23rd June and Boronia Park on 30th June. Let Brett know if you want to be in a team for these events as I think there will be some spaces as a few of our regulars will be away.
Other coming events
NOSH footrace next Sunday, many club members are helping and competing and our State League this year will be local at Forestville on Saturday 13th July, a Bush Sprint. This is an opportunity for to compete in a State League close to home, I hope to see you there.
Summer Series
We have been allocated 6 events in the 2019/2020 season we still require 1 more setter for Monday 23rd December at Chinamans Beach, Mosman. Christmas Day is on Wednesday this year so the SSS will be on Monday. We have setters for the other 5 events.
Regards,
Terry Bluett
